Fascinated by Japanese aesthetics, Christian Dior drew inspiration from it for traditional Japanese patterns, colors and forms. He was particularly influenced by the kimono, a traditional garment worn by Japanese Kabuki theater actors, featuring supple, flowing and refined fabrics that inspired many of his creations.
